Email Compression
|
When emailing attachments, SnapZip offers you several options
for automatically compressing files. Clicking on the Preferences
link will prompt a Windows Message box to appear with three
tabs - General, Image Compression
and Email Compression.
Choose Email Compression.
Here you have the option to:
- Automatically compress all attachments into one zip file.
- Turn off automatic compression if you would prefer to
compress the files manually.
- Automatically compress all attachments beyond a certain
number and file size.

What do Minimum Files and Total
Memory mean?
|
By choosing the third option of email compression you are
telling SnapZip to automatically compress file attachments
whenever two conditions are met. The first is the number of
files that are attached to the email (Minimum Files). By default
this number is two, so any time you have an email with two
or more file attachments, they will be automatically compressed
into a zip file. The second condition is total file size (Total
Memory). By default this number is 100kb, so if the total
file size of all of the attached files combines to 100kb or
more, they will be automatically compressed into a zip file.
When this option is checked (as indicated below) both of
these values can be changed to whatever you choose.
