Image Compression
|
When zipping or zipping & emailing, SnapZip
offers you even more options for making your photos
smaller. Clicking on the Preferences link will
prompt a Windows Message box to appear with two
tabs - General and
Image Compression.
Choose Image Compression.
Here you have the option to:
- Reduce images to screen quality
- Leave them as they are
|
What does Screen Quality mean?
|
By choosing to reduce your images to screen quality
you can greatly reduce the file size of the image. If
these images are only going to be seen on a computer
screen (like your desktop photo or on the Internet)
this level of compression is fine. However, if you plan
to print these images we recommend leaving them as
you already have them.
You can set SnapZip to always perform these tasks
or to ask you each time.
Note - When SnapZip compresses an image, it adds
"_reduced" to the file name. This helps to ensure you
won’t overwrite any of your high quality images!
