Erase My Internet History

Erase Search History (Auto Complete)

Have you noticed that when you start to type in a search box (such as Google or Yahoo) that a drop-down list with EVERY search you’ve ever typed appears?
Or have you had this happen when you start to type in your email address?

Needless to say your search history (auto-complete) leaves a pretty visible map of where you’ve been online.

While this feature may be helpful for some things, it can also seriously compromise your security and privacy.

This "saved list" happens because of a feature called auto-complete. This feature stores a list of ANYTHING you type in a web page. Which means your name, your email, your credit card numbers, your address and your passwords could all be stored in your Auto Complete History. If a hacker were to break into your PC, this is exactly the kind of information they'd be looking for.

Let's look at it from a privacy standpoint...

What if someone else were to use your computer and start a search using Google. The problem is, these websites don't just remember one thing, they remember it ALL. Would you want everyone to see ALL of your searches?

PC Confidential makes it easy to protect your privacy and erase items from your Auto Complete History.

Simply open PC Confidential and:
  1. Locate Erase My Internet History (on the left hand side of the screen).
  2. Then check the item called:
Scan Search History (Google, AOL, MSN, etc)
  3. Next, press Scan Now
  4. Once your Search History scan is complete, a Privacy Report will appear with your results.
  5. To delete, press <Delete All
Stop:
If you’d like to stop scanning your Internet History selections, simply press Stop.

My Results:
After you press Scan Now, you’ll notice a scrolling list in the My Results section. This is a list of everything that is being scanned (in this case, the results could include browser history, browser cache, browser cookies and search history). Once the scan is complete, you will also see a total number of scanned results.

Would you like to automatically delete your Search History?
