Secure IE 2007 Help Documents

   Organization of the Secure IE Screen
1. New Web Browser Window
Click on this button to open a new web browser window. You can have dozens of web browser windows open at any time!

2. Search Engine Access
Use the Search box to search the web using popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or AltaVista. Simply type in the term you'd like to search for and then select the search engine you'd like to use. Then hit enter and you'll be taken to the results.

3. Security Toolbar
With one click, easily block or allow popups, Flash and ActiveX. Also access the Internet Security Manager.

4. Internet Security Manager
Use the Internet Security Manager to automatically tune your browser settings. Also easily manage your security zones.

5. Winferno Security
Use the integrated Winferno Security Scan to scan your PC for dangerous spyware, viruses and other security threats.

6. Download Bar
A Download Bar is automatically shown for each file that is downloaded from the web.

7. Secure IE Toolbox
The Secure IE Toolbox contains all of your favorite Secure IE features in one convenient location.
It's organized into 6 categories:
  • Open and Save - This contains everything you need to open new tabs, start new workspaces, open files and more!
  • Favorites - Here you'll find a list of your favorites and options to organize them
  • History - You'll be able to view a list of sites you've visited and have the option to erase this list.
  • Editing Features - In this section you'll find the highlight and sticky note options as well as search capabilities.
  • File Downloads - Here you can download a file as well as access the File Transfer Manager
  • Other - Here you can access your preferences as well as the help docs.
To open and close Secure IE Toolbox:
  • Click on the orange button located in the top left hand portion of the screen (near the browser tabs)
  • Select View, Secure IE Toolbox
  • Or press key F6 located on your keyboard

8. Document Tab Bar
The names of open websites appear on the tabs at the top of the screen. To switch between websites, simply click on the tabs.

9. McAfee Site Advisor
Notice when you visit websites, the McAfee Site Advisor displays icons based on the safety of that particular site. For instance if you go to a site that McAfee knows is safe, you'll see a green check mark. But if you go to site that is questionable or known for spyware, you'll see a red x.
10. Find Box
Use the Find box to search for text in the current web page.

11. Status Bar
This toolbar shows important status messages and the progress of loading web pages.

12. Security Zone Info
This panel shows the security zone information for the web site you are currently on. Right-click to change settings or to assign the current web site to any security zone.

13. Info. Message Box
The Info. Message Box will appear from time to time to show imformative messages.
