Welcome to Winferno Security Scan Help:

The Comprehensive Scan and Scan Results report is a powerful one-stop diagnostic tool for your PC. In one step you can scan for Spyware, Viruses and PC Security problems and see a detailed report of your scan results.

Simply press the button Comprehensive Scan & Report (located in the top left hand corner) and this comprehensive feature performs 9 different scans.

Press Scan Now to begin.
While scanning, notice that in the list of scans, some of the items have changed colors.

If an item is pink and has a check mark next to it, that means that scan is complete.

Scan Status:
Winferno Security Scan is meant to run in the background and won't prevent you from working on other things while the scan is running. Unfortunately spyware and virus infections can hide deep on your PC and a thorough scan often takes time. (The scan time will depend on your PC).

To check your scan progress, look at the Scan Status box located on the right hand side of the screen. Here you will see Items Scanned and Problems Found.

To Stop the scan at any point, simply press the Stop button.

Winferno Security Scans:

Scan Memory for Viruses - Winferno Security Scan looks for any problems in currently active programs areas such as System RAM and Virtual memory.
Scan Fixed Drives for Viruses - Winferno Security Scan deep scans the fixed drive and searches for programs that may be infected. It also searches for infections on the hard drive that may not be currently running.
Scan Memory for Spyware - Winferno Security Scan looks for any problems in currently active programs areas such as System RAM and Virtual memory.
Scan Fixed Drives for Spyware - Winferno Security Scan deep scans the fixed drive and searches for programs that may be infected. It also searches for infections on the hard drive that may not be currently running.
Scan Ports – Winferno Security Scan looks for any open ports in your PC, which a hacker could use to quietly break into you PC.
Scan Shared Resources – Winferno Security Scan examines your PC to see if you have any shared folders. When a folder is designated as shared, this means anyone can see what’s in it and potentially invade your privacy.
Scan Browser Security Level – Winferno Security Scan checks your Browser Security Levels. Without proper configuration, hackers and spyware can use tools such as ActiveX to perform drive by downloads and plant spyware on your PC.
Scan Windows Update Protection Level – Winferno Security Scan checks your Windows Update Protection levels to make sure they are up to date. When Internet threats occur, Windows often releases patches and updates to resolve problems. Not having proper updates installed greatly increases your chances of serious PC problems.
Scan Spyware Cookies – Winferno Security Scan searches your PC for Internet Cookies, which are little files that websites write and store on your computer. If a hacker were to break you’re your PC they could use data stored in your cookies to steal personal information such as credit card numbers, passwords, and email addresses. Cookies also provide a visual record of all the websites you’ve visited, so anyone looking at them would know exactly where you’ve been!
