   Web Browser Basics
 Opening a browser window
To open a browser window:
  • Click on the Browser button in the Standard Toolbar
  • Click on the New Browser Tab link in the Secure IE Toolbox
  • Or select File, New, Browser

 Navigation
Use the navigation buttons - Back, Stop, Forward, Refresh and Home - in conjunction with the Address Bar to navigate the web.
 Toolbox
Use the new Secure IE Toolbox to locate all of your favorite Secure IE features. It's organized into 6 categories:
  • Open and Save - This contains everything you need to open new tabs, start new workspaces, open files and more!
  • Favorites - Here you'll find a list of your favorites and options to organize them
  • History - You'll be able to view a list of sites you've visited and have the option to erase this list.
  • Editing Features - In this section you'll find the highlight and sticky note options as well as search capabilities.
  • File Downloads - Here you can download a file as well as access the File Transfer manager
  • Other - Here you can access your preferences as well as the help docs.
Choosing to have this toolbox open places all your favorite features at your fingertips. But if you'd prefer, you can also hide the sidebar.

To hide or view the Secure IE Toolbox:
  • Click on the orange button located in the top left hand corner next to the browser tabs
  • Or select View, Secure IE Toolbox
 Searching
To search for text on the current web page, enter the text in the Find box and press the Enter key. Secure IE will then highlight matching text on the web page. Press Enter again or F3 to search for the next occurence of the text. Hold down the Shift key while performing a search to highlight all occurences. You can also search the entire workspace for text by selecting Edit, Search Workspace (Research-Desk Professional Only).

To search using popular search engines, simply type in what you'd like to search for and then select which search engine (e.g. Google, Yahoo, Dictionary) that you'd like to search. After you hit enter, we'll take you directly to the search results.
 Magnifying
You can magnify individual images on the web page of magnify the whole web page. To magnify individual images, right-click on the image on the web page and select Zoom In or Zoom Out from the popup menu.

To magnify the entire web page, select View, Zoom and then choose one of the following options:
  • Largest
  • Larger
  • Medium
  • Smaller
  • Smallest
