Tricks with the Shift and Control Keys

Use the Control and Shift
keys in conjunction with URLs to modify how Research-Desk Professional navigates to websites:
- Hold down the Shift key to force navigation in a new browser window
- Hold down the Control key to force navigation in a new browser window
that appears behind the current window
- Hold down both Shift and Control keys to force navigation in
a new browser window in a new layer

Use the SHIFT and CTRL keys to modify URL navigation in the following places

Favorites Menu: Hold down the Shift or Control keys while clicking on an entry in the
menu
The Browser Address Bar: Hold down the Shift or Control keys while pressing
Enter in the Address Bar
A link on a web page: Hold down the Shift or Control keys while clicking on a link

Split Browser Windows to view up to four websites in one browser window
|
Click and drag on either the vertical or the horizontal Splitter Bar to split the browser
window into up to four panes.
Once the browser window is split, the browser's Address Bar will correspond to the
most recently used pane. Click on a pane before using the Address Bar to ensure
that the Address Bar navigates that pane.

Locking the Browser
|
You can lock the browser so that any links on the displayed web page open in a new window.
Click the Lock button in the Browser Toolbar to lock/unlock the browser.

Working with Multiple Browser Windows
|
Drag links from one browser window to another to make the target browser window navigate
to the dropped link.
