Is Microsoft Office Required?
Research-Desk Professional is designed for use with Microsoft Office, and
thus requires it.
Which versions of Microsoft Office are supported?
Microsoft Office 97, 2000, 2003 and XP are supported.
Special Note:
If only a subset of Microsoft Office is installed (e.g., only Microsoft Word),
Research-Desk Professional automatically makes the corresponding functionality
available. As additional Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel
or PowerPoint) are installed, Research-Desk automatically makes their corresponding
functionality available as well.

Microsoft Office Service Packs
Microsoft has issued several free service packs to fix functionality and
security issues in Microsoft Office. We recommend that you install the
latest Microsoft Office Service Pack to ensure proper operation of Microsoft
Office in conjunction with Research-Desk.
To determine which Service Pack you have installed:
If you are using Microsoft Office standalone, select About Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint
from the Help menu. If you are using Microsoft Office within Research-Desk,
select Excel Help/Word Help/PowerPoint Help from the Help menu, then
select About Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint. If a Microsoft Office Service
Pack is already installed, you will see the text "SR-1" or SR-2" along with
version numbers near the top of the dialog box.
To download the free Microsoft Office Service Packs:
Visit the Microsoft Office Download Center at
http://office.microsoft.com/Downloads/and search for "Service Packs"
for the appropriate version of Microsoft Office. Follow Microsoft's downloading
and installation instructions to install the Service Pack.
