Browser - General Settings

Select Research-Desk Tools > Preferences > Browser - General
Use these options to customize Research-Desk Professional's General
Settings.

General Settings:

- Use Microsoft Word to edit text areas - If this
item is checked, Research-Desk will use Microsoft
Word technology when editing text areas such as forms, web
based email, etc
- Enable Browser Fast Forward (SM) - If this item is
checked, the Fast Forward feature will detect the next page
in a series of pages. For example, when you’re skimming a multiple
page story, Fast-Forward (SM) technology automatically detects the
next page and makes it available via the browser's Forward button.
This useful feature will make hunting for the 'Next Page' link a
thing of the past.
- CTRL + ENTER adds www. And ".com" to a URL instead of
opening the URL in a new window

Allow web sites to show Flash Media content:
|
- Choose Yes to enable Flash
- Choose No to disable Flash
- Choose No, show a message everytime Flash is blocked -
If this item is checked you will see a message appear at the bottom
right hand of your screen everytime Flash is blocked.
You can also access this feature on the top right hand side of the Research-
Desk screen.

Allow web sites to 'Pop-up' new Browser windows:

- Choose Yes to allow pop-ups
- Choose No to block pop-ups
- Choose No, show a message everytime a Popup is blocked
- If this item is checked you will see a message appear at the
bottom right hand of your screen everytime a popup is blocked.
- Choose Trusted Sites Only - If this item is checked, you are
allowing Trusted Sites (which you can define) the right to display
popup windows.
