Research Desk Professional 2005 Help Documents
With Research-Desk Professional you can open:
- A new web browser window
- A new Word document
- A new Excel spreadsheet
- A new PowerPoint presentation

Opening New Documents
|
There are four easy ways to open new documents. Just:
- Select File, New, and then choose Browser, Word
Document, Excel Spreadsheet or PowerPoint Presentation
- Click on the icons in the Standard Toolbar (see
picture below)
- Click on the link New Browser Tab, New Word Document,
New Excel Spreadsheet or New PowerPoint Presentation
located in the Research Desk Toolbox
- Or right-click in the blue background area of the tabs, and
select Browser, Word Document, Excel Spreadsheet or PowerPoint
Presentation
The Standard Toolbar (normally shown near the top-left of your screen)

Switching Between Open Documents
|
To switch between open documents:
- Click on its tab in the Document Tab Bar
- Or, select the desired web page from the Window menu
- Or, press CTRL+TAB

Switching Between Layers
|
The names of the layers appear on the buttons near the top-right of the
Research-Desk screen. To view a specific layer, click the corresponding
layer button. Think of using Workspaces and Layers similarly to the way
you would use Workbooks and Worksheets within Microsoft Excel.
The Layer Bar (normally shown near the top of your screen)
