Research Desk Professional 2003 Help Documents

Starting
New Documents
|
To
start a new
document, do any one
of the following
things:
-
Select
File, New,
and then select
the document type
of your choice
-
Or
click on the icon
of the document
type of your
choice on the
Standard
Toolbar
(see picture
below)
-
Or
right-click in the
background area of
the workspace, and
select the
document type of
your choice
The Standard
Toolbar
(normally shown near
the top-left of your
screen)

Activating Open
Documents
|
To
activate a document,
do any one of the
following things:
-
Click on its tab
in the
Document Tab Bar
-
Or,
select the desired
document from the
Window menu
-
Or,
press
CTRL+TAB
Note that the
Document Tab
Bar only
shows documents in
the active layer. To
see the documents in
other layers,
activate the desired
layer by clicking
its tab in the
Layer Bar.
You can also use the
Layer
Manager to
see a tree-like map
of all the documents
and layers.
The

(normally shown near
the top of your
screen)

Moving Documents
Between Layers
|
To
move a document from
one layer to
another, do any one
of the following
things:
-
Use
the mouse to drag
the document's
drag box onto the
desired layer in
the Layer
Bar
-
Or,
use the mouse to
drag the tab on
the
Document Tab Bar
onto the desired
layer in the
Layer Bar
-
Or,
use the mouse to
drag-and-drop the
documents shown in
the Layer
Manager
Or, you can go to
Window
on the menu bar,
click on
Layer Manager,
click on the icon of
the document you
wish to move, drag
and drop the icon to
they desired layer
in the Layer
Manager
tree.
