Research-Desk identifies special character combinations in the URL and replaces
them with words that you have typed in. For example, a browser address bar
shortcut URL may contain "{1}" or "{2}" to refer to the first or second word typed
or "{A}" to refer to all words typed after the shortcut.
So if you define the shortcut and URL combination described above ("go" and
"http://www.google.com/search?q={A}"), Research-Desk will substitute all words
typed after the word "go" into the "{A}" portion of the URL.
Research-Desk comes with a number of pre-defined shortcuts:
go searches the web using Google
ya searches the web using Yahoo di searches dictionary.com
for the meaning of the word So, you can type go Jupiter or di Jupiter
in the browser's Address Bar
to search the web for information on Jupiter. |
