Emailing Pictures

Everybody's Going Digital!
So jump on the bandwagon. Today’s digital cameras take pictures that rival those
taken by traditional 35-millimeter film cameras in every aspect. And digital
cameras offer amenities (like red-eye reduction and video) that older cameras
could never dream of. And if you like sharing your pictures with everyone you
know, then digital pictures are just what you’ve been waiting for.
The Problem with BIG Pictures
Email has made sharing digital pictures with anyone on the planet a reality.
But there is only one problem. While a 4 megapixel digital camera takes a great
picture with awesome clarity and lots of vibrant color, each photo could reach
a file size of 10 megabytes! That may not seem like much until you consider
that the average email provider allows email attachments no larger than 3
megabytes. So does that mean you can only send 1/3 of a picture at
a time?
The solution to the big picture problem is file compression. File compression
may sound really technical, but if you’ve ever worked with .zip files, then you
probably know more about file compression than you think.
Just Zip It!
Zip technology is the most common type of file compression in computing today.
Zipping a file is simply a process that takes any normal file and squeezes it
into something smaller. And then when you want to use the file again, you
“unzip” it back to its normal size.
Getting into the practice of zipping your pictures has lots of benefits.
Zipped pictures are much smaller than normal files so they save space on
your computer and allow you to store more on your hard drive. Zipping is
also good for archiving pictures that you don’t look at very often but
want to keep.
And if you find yourself emailing lots of photos to friends, family, or
coworkers, zipping could save you a lot of time and hassle. Every time
you send an attachment in an email, you are actually transferring a file
from your computer to another computer somewhere on the Internet. Emailing
large files across big spaces can take big time, and if your connection is
broken or runs out of time, you have to start all over again. How
frustrating! Zipping up your pictures before emailing them means smaller
files to transfer and much shorter connection times.
Where can I get a good Zipping Program?
There are tons of zipping programs on the market today. The problem with
many of them is that they are so confusing to use. They have buttons that
don’t make sense and other features that aren’t intuitive at all. If you
want a zipping solution that is effective and easy to use, then there is
only one place to turn.
Winferno Software offers you SnapZip zipping software. SnapZip is easy to
use and easy to understand. If you need a little extra help SnapZip has
wizards to guide you through every step. Plus, SnapZip offers you the option
of zipping your files and then emailing them for you. SnapZip is the only
